This idea was conceived through my involvement in AFFIRM (the American Foundation for Firearm Injury Reduction in Medicine), as I aimed to create a video about the public health approach to COVID-19 in order to highlight the importance of the public health approach to firearm injury. I reached out to colleagues and friends from prior employment and education, and was overwhelmed with the responses I received! While some explicitly discussed firearm injury in association with COVID-19 (watch here), others chose to discuss the ramifications of social distancing and quarantine during this unprecedented time. I felt these responses deserved a video of their own, which is why I decided to create this perspective-specific submission.
